Is basement waterproofing disruptive to daily life?

I’m considering waterproofing work but concerned about how disruptive it might be. I live in the house full-time, so major construction could be an issue. I’m not sure how long the process usually takes. Noise, dust, and access limitations are all things I’m thinking about. At the same time, I know it’s an important improvement. I’m trying to prepare for what to expect during the process.
