Genetic research is one of the most fundamental branches of science in the modern world. It not only advances knowledge about the nature of life, it drives fundamental change in almost every area – medicine, farming, conservation. Gene synthesis technology, for instance, allows researchers to engineer and construct novel DNA sequences to create new drugs, vaccines and new crop varieties.
